How do I get my Mercury outboard engine start better?
I bought a 1978 Avenger three years, has an outboard motor Mercury 200hp 1990 (twice) and had a shop for music. They said the painting was rotten and not to be issued without replacing the table ($ 3K). Tome the boat and do not follow, I mean when I hit solid wood and no sign of rot you all! Three summers of fun and, finally, move air upward. I changed the spark plugs and fuel oil separator. Now the custom boat top. I have spark and the starter does not work very well what to do?? Help? We used a large amount of spray liquid in the boot I do not know what has worked in the past does not help today ?????
After to use all the ether, I would start with a compression test to see how much damage you have done. With this engine, you need at least 120 psi, and all but 10% have a well balanced engine block. If the compression is good, move in the fuel system. Change all filters and check the fuel flow good pump. Make sure your starter solenoid works.
